Important information about an incident related to Evertec

At FirstBank we are aware of an incident at Evertec, one of our external service providers, involving access to unauthorized data and we understand the concern this may generate. 
What you should know: 
  • The incident occurred in Evertec’s systems, not FirstBank’s.
  • FirstBank’s systems, infrastructure, and operations have not been impacted.
  • Your accounts and funds remain secure.
  • At this time, there is no evidence of fraudulent use of the information and no evidence that PINs or CVV numbers, important components of the security of transactions, have been compromised.
  • You may continue using your ATH® / debit cards and ATH Móvil as usual as well as any other FirstBank product
What happened?
 
On May 13, 2026, Evertec identified unauthorized access to data through a third-party provider platform. Evertec immediately activated its security protocols, worked with security experts, and notified the appropriate authorities. Evertec has confirmed that the situation has been contained and the affected system secured.

 

 

Was I impacted?

 

Only limited information for some customers may have been involved. If your information was impacted, you will receive a notification directly from Evertec by mail. FirstBank will contact you if any additional action is required, such as replacing your card. 

 

What should I do?

 

At this time, no immediate action is required for most customers. As a precaution, we recommend that you:
  • Regularly monitor your account activity through Digital Banking.
  • Report any suspicious transactions immediately
  • Avoid sharing personal or financial information via unsolicited calls, emails, messages or in person visits. You will never be contacted to provide this type of information.
Remember, FirstBank, Evertec, or ATH Móvil will never visit you or call you to ask for your PIN, card details, passwords, or security codes.
If you receive a letter from Evertec:
  • Follow the instructions included in the letter.
  • You may be eligible for 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring through Experian.
  • Activate this service for added protection.
