As part of its commitment to environmental conservation, FirstBank, through its corporate social responsibility program Uno con el Ambiente, supported the Eagle Scout project of young scout Julián González, who led the installation of three informative signs on the beaches of Las Golondrinas, Middles, and Paseo Tablado in Isabela.
This initiative is part of the multisector project Rescate Costero (Coastal Rescue), whose goal is to mitigate coastal erosion through the planting of 25,000 trees in different areas along Puerto Rico’s coast. The signs installed by González provide educational information about the project and its mission, and include a QR code that directs visitors to the Uno con el Ambiente website to further expand their knowledge about this important ecological effort.
“We are proud to support Julián on his journey to earning the Eagle Scout rank and to see his commitment reflected in concrete actions that positively impact coastal erosion mitigation. At FirstBank, we believe in fostering partnerships that contribute to the development of leaders with a sense of social responsibility who are focused on finding solutions,” said Wanda Betancourt, FirstBank’s Executive Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications.
This collaboration highlights the value of young volunteers as drivers of change and demonstrates how initiatives like Coastal Rescue can raise awareness and inspire future generations committed to protecting the environment.
