At a time when strengthening local commerce is key to Puerto Rico’s sustainable development, FirstBank is strengthening its presence at the MIDA Conference & Food Show 2025 – one of the most relevant commercial platforms for Puerto Rico’s food industry. In this context, the bank is reaffirming its commitment to Puerto Rican entrepreneurship by integrating business solutions and sustainability with an experience designed to connect, educate and sow new opportunities for growth.
As part of its interactive exhibit, FirstBank will be presenting an activation with commercial client Jardines del Oeste, a local company led by Puerto Rican agronomist César Concepción Acevedo, who is well known for his business model focused on agricultural production and environmentally responsible practices. Those who visit the bank's exhibit and register will receive plants¹ for culinary use, such as sweet pepper, cilantro, oregano, pepper, recao, and rosemary as part of a symbolic effort to sow long-term relationships between FirstBank and its customers, as well as with the business community in general.
The activation will incorporate elements of planting and sustainability, such as the delivery of edible plants and collaboration with local agricultural clients. This in turn naturally links to the institutional program Uno con el Ambiente, which promotes the conservation of natural resources and the development of responsible business models that integrate sustainable practices, environmental education, and community value, while also reinforcing the FirstBank for Business message to align financial products and services with value-added resources for entrepreneurs and merchants.
From Thursday, June 19 to Saturday, June 21, representatives from the bank’s business units will be offering personalized orientations on accounts, loans, point-of-sale (POS), digital solutions, and entrepreneurial support programs. The experience will also be complemented with tools designed to facilitate the structured growth of participating businesses, and provide access to value-added resources that support long-term development.
“FirstBank’s participation in MIDA reflects how the bank turns its commitment to the island’s business development into action by supporting local companies, connecting them with new audiences, and sowing value at every stage of their development. With our motto “When we work together, your business grows,” we’re promoting relationships that strengthen Puerto Rico’s commercial ecosystem,” said Henry Rodríguez, Vice President and Director of Commercial Strategy at FirstBank Puerto Rico.
