Higher education represents one of the most important investments in the future of thousands of young people in Puerto Rico. As part of its commitment to expanding access to education and supporting the development of the next generation of professionals and leaders, FirstBank has opened applications for the YOU First Scholarship Program 2026, an initiative designed to support college students with demonstrated financial need and strong academic performance.
The program is part of the YOU First College Program, a platform created by FirstBank to support the academic, personal, and professional development of college students through scholarships, internships, financial education, leadership experiences, and entrepreneurship training.
Since its launch in 2021, the initiative has impacted more than 150 students in Puerto Rico and awarded $365,000 in scholarships, helping them continue their studies and prepare for their professional futures.
Who Can Apply for the Scholarship?
Although specific criteria may vary by participating university, the program maintains several general eligibility requirements.
Interested students must generally meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Maintain strong academic performance.
- Demonstrate leadership and community involvement.
- Be enrolled at a university participating in the YOU First Scholarship Program.
